Hi, my name is Hayden. I’m thirteen years old and was nine years old when I wrote and illustrated the first Axolotl Adventures in Minecraft book series.
I live in California. It’s been a dream of mine for the past few years to write and illustrate books about some of my interests in science, sea animals, amphibians, reptiles, birds, endangered animals, Minecraft, and more! I read many books on these subjects, watch videos, play Minecraft in creative mode, sketch, and draw in 3D and on the computer.
When I heard Minecraft would add more characters to the game like axolotls, glow squids, honeybees, pandas, parrots, allays, frogs, and more, I immediately started having many ideas about the adventures they could go on. These ideas quickly turned into stories! I hope that you enjoy reading about their big adventures!

Illustrating these books is fun and much hard work! I sketch my ideas with pencils and turn them into 3D art on the computer by designing and building individual Minecraft blocks and details! Each block needs to be designed to look like a specific material. You may be able to identify some of the materials because they look like those that are in Minecraft. Finally, I put the blocks and shapes together to make scenes for each chapter and story. I hope that you enjoy the Minecraft-inspired illustrations!
